Zuletzt aktualisiert: 1. Februar 2026
Zusammenfassung
Czechia introduces significant 2026 changes: Level 3 autonomous driving legalized on highways, e-vignette price increases with hybrid exemption removed, EU cross-border license ban enforcement, digital driver license via eDoklady, and strict zero-alcohol enforcement continues.
Wichtige Änderungen
Level 3 Autonomous Driving Legalized on Highways
Gültig ab 1. Januar 2026
No autonomous driving permitted
All vehicles required a human driver actively controlling the vehicle at all times
SAE Level 3 on selected highways
Vehicles with approved Level 3 automated driving systems can operate on designated highway sections; driver must regain control within 10 seconds of prompt; non-driving activities permitted while system active
Offizielle Quelle: Czech Road Traffic Act Amendment
Tipp vom Fahrlehrer
“Czechia is the second EU country after Germany to allow Level 3 autonomous driving. The car handles all driving tasks on approved highway sections, and you can read or use your phone. But you must take control within 10 seconds when prompted. Know the difference between Level 2 (hands on) and Level 3 (hands off, eyes off).”
EU Cross-Border Driving Ban Enforcement
Gültig ab 1. Januar 2026
National bans only
Driving license bans for serious offenses were enforced only in the country that issued them
EU-wide ban enforcement
Serious offenses like DUI or excessive speeding resulting in a license ban in one EU country are now enforced across the entire EU
Offizielle Quelle: EU Directive on Cross-Border Enforcement
Tipp vom Fahrlehrer
“A driving ban in any EU country now follows you everywhere in the Union. If you lose your license for drink-driving in Austria, you can't drive in Czechia either. This closes a major loophole that existed for decades.”
EU GSR2 Phase 3: Advanced Driver Distraction Warning
Gültig ab 7. Juli 2026
Basic ADAS only
Since July 2024, new cars required AEB, ISA, lane-keeping, and drowsiness warning
Camera-based distraction monitoring
All new cars must have Advanced Driver Distraction Warning (ADDW) with camera monitoring to detect phone use or inattention
Offizielle Quelle: EU General Safety Regulation 2
Tipp vom Fahrlehrer
“GSR2 Phase 3 adds camera-based distraction monitoring from July 2026. Combined with Czechia's strict 0.0‰ alcohol limit and now EU-wide driving bans, the message is clear: zero tolerance for impaired or distracted driving.”

Re: E-Vignette Price Increase and Hybrid Exemption Removed
Tipp vom Fahrlehrer
“E-vignette prices increased slightly for 2026. The big change from March 1 is that plug-in hybrids with CO2 under 50 g/km are no longer exempt - only fully electric and hydrogen vehicles skip the toll. Buy your e-vignette at edalnice.cz before hitting the motorway.”

Re: Digital Driver License via eDoklady App
Tipp vom Fahrlehrer
“You can now carry your driver license digitally in the eDoklady app. Czech police and increasingly other EU police forces accept it. But keep your physical card for trips outside the EU or when renting cars abroad.”
