Is anything different about driving in Tampere?

Tampere cut the area speed limit in residential districts from 40 to 30 km/h across the inner city in 2017-2022. Hämeenkatu has been closed to private cars since 2017; trams, buses, taxis, delivery and service traffic may use it. Move-request signs restrict kerbside parking for winter maintenance, as a rule from 15 November to the end of April. From 1 January 2027 DEKRA Katsastus runs Tampere theory tests and permits, and CityKuljettajat runs the driving tests.

What happens if I leave my car parked under a winter move-request sign?

The city moves it to the nearest free space and bills the owner 160 euros, with 40 euros more for an electric car.

How many questions are on the driving test in Tampere?

The Traficom theory test has 70 questions. You need to score 58/70 to pass (83%).

What documents do I need?

You'll need: ID card/Passport, EAS certificate, Driving licence permit, Photo. The test fee is approximately €46 (theory test).
