Turn Rules in Spain
Right of Way Basics
- Priority from the right: At unmarked intersections, yield to vehicles coming from your right
- Traffic signs and signals override this rule
- Roundabouts: Vehicles already in the roundabout have priority
Making Turns
Right Turns
- Stay in the rightmost lane
- Signal at least 30 meters before turning
- Yield to pedestrians crossing
- Check mirrors and blind spot
Left Turns
- Position in the leftmost lane for your direction
- Yield to oncoming traffic
- Yield to pedestrians crossing
- Complete turn into the appropriate lane
U-Turns (Cambio de Sentido)
U-turns are allowed in Spain unless prohibited by signs. Rules:
- Not allowed at intersections with traffic lights (unless signed)
- Allowed on open roads with good visibility
- Must not obstruct traffic
- Prohibited on highways and motorways

Turning on Red
- NOT allowed in Spain
- Must wait for green light
- Exception: Right turn arrow may allow turn
