Turn rules in France
Priorite a droite (priority to the right)
France strictly applies this rule:
- At unmarked intersections, yield to vehicles from the right
- Very important in cities and villages
- Even applies to small side streets
- Signs override this rule
Making turns

- Stay on the right side of road
- Signal (clignotant) in advance
- Yield to pedestrians
- Check for cyclists
Left Turns
- Move toward center
- Yield to all oncoming traffic
- Wait in intersection if needed
- Yield to pedestrians crossing
No right on red
- Turning right on red is NOT allowed
- Exception: Flashing amber arrow allows turn after yielding
- Must wait for green light
